RATU GALUH MANGKU ALAM

RATU GALUH MANGKU ALAM
If you ever venture to Kebun Raya Bogor (Bogor Botanical Garden), towards the back of Istana Bogor, near Ciliwung Stream not far from the Red Bridge, you will find a complex of Tomb encircled by green fence.
Inside the complex, you will find 3 tombs or 'petilasan'. The main tomb is the most unique one, as you will see it is the only tomb in Indonesia and probably in the whole world, marked with a golden Crown. This is believed to be the tomb of Ibu Ratu Galuh Mangku Alam, wife to the great Monarch of Pajajaran, Prabu Siliwangi. The story tells that towards the end of Pajajaran Empire, the whole kingdom 'silem' or dissapeared without a tarce.

Centuries later it appeared again in the South Sea, to be exact, at Parangkusumo Beach south of Jogjakarta.

The legends said that after dissapearing from Pajajaran, Ratu Galuh Mangku Alam transformed and appeared in the South Sea as Kanjeng Ratu Kidul, Ruler of the South Sea of Java.
